About UK Call Centres

An Introduction to UK Call Centres

While working on projects and new products' most companies find their progress is continually slowed by having to answer calls from your customers. When a small business is taking many calls from a large customer base this can be a huge problem, particularly if they don't have the space to employ increasing numbers of staff to answer their phones. This is where a call centre can take on the burden from the companies shoulders.

UK Call Centres

Call centres in the UK are becoming particularly popular as many people in the UK get very impatient trying to speak to an operator in non UK call centres. Operators who do not have an English accent or are able to understand some of the many different regional accents we have here in the UK.

Call Centre Technology

The technology exists in the UK for a company to very simply be able to reroute their telephone calls to a call centre and, have the call centre answer all their telephone calls instead. The call centre will then periodically send the call messages back to the company via whatever means such as email, SMS, fax or website logins.

Caller ID and called ID, allows the operator in the call centre to see in advance which companies' customer is calling and sophisticated software allows the operator to go through a unique script specially crafted for that particular company. The script has all the possible enquires or requests the customer will want. The script will give the correct response for each decision that customer might make. All this information is saved into a database and can be sent to the company in question, via email, fax, text message, CSV, XML or any other format that company might care to arrange with the call centre.

Using Call Centres as a Backups

Virtually all companies nowadays, backup their computer systems and many have off-site servers, which can be used to restore the data in case of fire or flood. Few however have thought about having a backup for their telephone system.

UK call centres can also be used as a backup to a company's existing telephone exchange. If the exchange is damaged due to a flood or fire, it can be automatically switched to a call centre. Call centres can also provide a company with telephone answering service for out of normal business hours or public holidays.
